About Go The Himalaya Treks

Our Story: From the Trails

Every great journey begins with a single step—and for us, those steps were taken on the steep, winding trails of the Himalayas. Go The Himalaya wasn't born in a boardroom; it was born at 5,000 meters remote and high mountain, after years of hard work.

Our team started exactly where the heart of the mountains is: as porters and guides. For years, we carried the backpacks, navigated the passes, and shared tea with travelers from around the globe. In 2018, Deependra Chapai and a core team of local experts—people born and raised in these mountains—founded Go The Himalaya in Pokhara. We wanted to create a 100% locally owned, ground-operating company that treats its staff with dignity and gives travelers a true "insider’s" perspective of Nepal.

The "Go the Himalaya" Difference

We believe that a journey through the Himalayas should be as unique as the person taking it. We don't just offer tours; we offer a partnership.

The Himalayas demand respect. At Go The Himalaya, we have a firm rule: “We do not care about anything more than safety.”

Health is more precious than any itinerary. Our guides are fully first-aid trained and insured. We maintain daily communication with our teams on the ground. If a medical emergency arises, we do not wait for insurance paperwork or bureaucratic delays; we move immediately to coordinate helicopter evacuations to bring you to safety.

Trek with Purpose: The 10% Promise

We believe travel should be a force for good. While many talk about "giving back," we have made it a cornerstone of our business.

10% of our annual profit goes directly to our non-profit residential children's schooling organization. This initiative provides quality education and housing for children in mountain regions who are at risk of dropping out due to financial hardship. When you trek with us, your adventure directly funds the future of a Himalayan child. Visit the website here, ohheekhusinepal.org.np to know more.

Environmental Conservation: Implementing "Leave No Trace" and " Minimal Impact Trekking” policies and organizing sanitation programs to keep the Himalayas pristine. Join our team at #litter_freehimalaya on Instagram and help us raise the awareness as well.

To provide a superior experience, we continuously invest in our team. Our guides and porters participate in regular training for:
